We are offering a day time training opportunity for competitive cheer athletes or non-members who are experienced gymnasts or dancers. *Beginners should refer to our Summer Day Camps in July*. The Summer Training Academy is an opportunity for athletes to develop their tumbling, jumps, strength, and flexibility skills for 2 hours each day, From Monday-Friday.

Athletes should sign up for full weeks, and can sign up for as many weeks as you would like. We are offering 6 weeks of our Summer Training Academy throughout July & August.

Beginning Fall 2020


​Tumbling classes have a 1:8 coach to athlete ratio. Athletes will work on tumbling technique and advancing their tumbling skills. Our classes are a 45 minute structured session, once a week. We have multiple classes to choose from on different nights of the week that accommodate our competitive team practice schedules. We recommend our classes to all of our competitive team members, however classes are open to non-members as well. Classes are divided by level. Athletes must have mastered their skills in the previous level to be eligible for the class. No exceptions will be made for this rule. All classes are age 6+. 

Tumbling classes are based on a month to month commitment. Our regular weekly tumbling classes run from September-April. Once registered, we require 30 days notice to cancel enrolment from a class on the 1st of the month for the following month. The monthly costs of our classes vary depending on the class due to scheduled gym closures and holidays. Tumbling tuition is charged on the 1st of every month. Members must have a credit card on file for their class payments or can pay with post-dated cheques. Please see below for class options and prices:

Flyer Class

All athletes welcome - Not just flyers! Highly recommended for athletes in flying positions on their teams.

Athletes will be lead through warm ups, conditioning, and drills geared specifically toward improving muscle groups which are most important to flying in cheerleading. The flyer must have strong ankles, knees, hip flexors, and core muscles. The class also focuses on safely improving full body flexibility, specifically hamstrings, quads, hips, back, and shoulders. The strengthening of these elements are then incorporated into skills and drills within the class which simulate cheerleading flying skills that athletes may be executing on their teams. If the athlete is not a flyer, this class will still be beneficial in improving their overall strength & flexibility. 


Level 1 Tumbling

Level 1 tumbling is appropriate for beginners to tumbling up to intermediate athletes who are working on any skills ranging from their handstands and cartwheels to back and front walkovers.


Level 2 Tumbling

(athletes must have mastered all level 1 skills to be eligible for this class)

Level 2 tumbling will focus on skills such as standing back handsprings, round off back handsprings, front handsprings, and back walkover back handsprings. 


Level 3 Tumbling

(athletes must have mastered all level 1 & 2 skills to be eligible for this class)

Level 3 tumbling will focus on skills such as round off back handspring back tuck, round off tuck, aerials, punch fronts, standing back handspring series, and jump to back handspring series. 



Level 4 Tumbling

(athletes must have mastered all level 1, 2, and 3 skills to be eligible for this class)

Level 4 tumbling will focus on skills such as round off back handspring back layout, round off layout, front handspring front tucks, standing back handspring series to tuck, and standing back tucks.




Private tumbling lessons are offered to any athlete of any level. You do not need to be a member of an Island Elite team to be eligible for privates. Private lessons are recommended for anyone seeking one-on-one instruction to improve their tumbling at a rapid pace. Privates can be done with a one athlete to one coach, two athletes to one coach or three athletes to one coach ratio. We currently have 7 USASF/BCCA certified coaches who can offer private tumbling lessons.
