elite competitive program
Competitive Cheerleading is an energetic, athletic, and unique sport for both girls and boys ages 3+. With provisional Olympic status, competitive cheerleading is an internationally recognized sport & on its way to the Olympic stage in the coming years! Cheerleading programs who are members of our Provincial Sport Association - "BC Sport Cheer" are also recognized by Sport BC & ViaSport in our province which allows for access to funding through Kid Sport BC and many other benefits!
Competitive Cheerleading combines unique elements of tumbling, stunting, jumping, pyramids and choreography into exciting 2-minute and 30-second routines which are performed at competitions against opposing teams of the same age group and skill level. Teams are scored in cheer on areas such as technique, difficulty, performance, and creativity. Athletes will benefit from competitive cheerleading by gaining strength, confidence, work ethic, flexibility, mental toughness, performance skills and more!
Our Elite competitive program is the best option for families who are able to make a full commitment to cheer from May - April. Elite teams practice twice per week, and compete at approximately seven competitions throughout their season, and perform at two showcases. Elite teams also commit to attending all skills and choreography camps and must be enrolled in tumbling classes outside of regular cheer practices. Attendance at ALL practices, competitions, showcases, and camps is mandatory.

skill & age requirements

Required skills must be MASTERED. Ideally, athletes would be competing in cheer one level below their current developing tumbling level, aligning with our guiding principle of "perfection before progression."
It's important to understand that mastering fundamental skills, including both tumbling and stunting, before moving on to the next skill, is crucial for athlete safety, technical proficiency, and team success. Similar to learning swimming or gymnastics, skills are acquired sequentially, with each skill or level serving as a foundation for the next.
Age eligibility for the season is based on the year your child was born. Many athletes will fall into more than one category. We follow the age grid set out by Cheer Canada.
We will typically place them on the younger of the two categories if there is an overlap and/or make the decision based on where we feel the child is best fit.
